What do you need to have a website?

To have a website you need 3 things:

a) Domain name: an url to identify a particular web page (brandname.com);

b) Host: storage unit where your website content lives online. Usually it has programming files like HTLM, PHP, Javascript, CSS and others.
These products are provided by companies.

c) SSL Certificate: Basically it is an implemented code on the server that allows content encryption.

What kind of websites do I design?

I design all kind of websites.

a) Professional and corporate websites;

b) One Page websites;

c) Landing Page: (a web page designed to convert visitors into leads);

d) E-commerce websites.

For simpler website solutions:

a) I start with a pre-made layout;

b) For tailor made websites solutions I start with a layout (UI- User interface) and after final approval from the client I start the programming part.

What is a CMS – Content Management System?

A content management system (CMS) is a platform that allows you to update and manage your website through an easy-to-use interface.

Advantages:

a) Reduced costs: Implementing an out-of-the-box CMS is definitely less costly than a custom one;

b) User-friendly: Gives people with little or no technical skills the ability to create, update or modify content;

c) Advanced site functionality: Most systems allow the implementation of functionalities;

d) Optimized your website and content for search engines (SEO) and mobile use;

e) Multiple users;

f) Open Source tools.

What is a responsive website (RWD)?

It is an approach to web design that makes web pages render well on a variety of devices and screen sizes.

Advantages:

a) Improving Online Browsing Experience;

b) Increasing your reach to tablet and mobile audiences;

c) Saving time and cost on website management and mobile development;

d) Easy Maintenance;

e) Improving SEO – increase your visibility in search engines.

What platforms do I use?

It depends on the type of website we are talking about.

For landing pages, one page and corporate websites I use WordPress

a) CMS and an excellent for SEO (Search Engine Optimization);

b) For e-commerce websites I use WooComerce platform;

c) It is an open source platform and in a very economic and fast way is possible to develop a website with backoffice.

For websites from the ground up I can use additional tools.

When I’m creating graphic design projects, I usually use Adobe tools like Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and others.

What are the stages?

1. Set up a meeting (by phone, in-person or virtual) to get more information about the project, to clarify any questions, and schedule deadlines.

2. Research, elaboration of ideas, executing of the first models and presentation to the client.

3. After the feedback on the first presentation, readjust the design according to the client’s inputs.

4. Review, correct and make the necessary changes according to client preferences.

5. An email is sent with all the information and original project files.
On web design projects, I provide tutorials in video or text format so that the client can be completely independent.
This work process is, of course, adaptable to every client!

How long does it take me to develop a project?

It varies according to the type of project (website, logo, e-commerce, newsletter, etc.) and its complexity.
Like any creative work, projecting an ideia and executing it takes time.
However, if we are talking about a website, its execution time depends on the following factors:

a) Size of the website, the number of pages;

b) Number of languages (ENG, PT, FR, etc);

c) Complexity of design;

d) Advanced features required by the client;

e) Timely availability of the contents on time;

f) Client feedback and input on the development of my work.

Communication between the client and the designer is a key point to ensure that deadlines are met.

What kind of content does the client provide?

For the development of a website I need:

a) The logo of the company or brand;

b) Texts, headlines, calls to actions;

c) Infographics, charts, images, videos;

d) Social media urls;

e) Contacts.

In short, all the elements the client wishes to have on the website.

Do you need help creating your content?

If you don’t know how to create it, I can do it for you.

Do I need to make a specific contract for new updates?

All websites are developed with CMS platforms.
The client has thus full access to their website and can make changes on their own.

What are the payment terms?

Each project is different but the value is divided by several phases:

a) Design projects

50% – on acceptance;  50% – on conclusion

b) Web Design projects (<= 5 pages)

Solution A: 60% – on acceptance;  20% – 30 days after the beginning;  20% – on conclusion

Solution B: 60% – on acceptance;  40% – on conclusion

c) Web Design projects (> 5 pages)

35% – on acceptance;  35% – 30 days after the beginning;  30% – on conclusion

Are there any limits on the proposal?

The budget is valid for 3 months. After this period it can be revised.

How many changes are included in the proposal?

Design gráfico:
a) Logos, one alternate design to the first concept presented.

Web design:
a) Changes to the structure of the WordPress template (programming);

b) Other types of projects have to be analysed on a case-by-case basis.

Do you have full access to all the project files?

The first thing you should do is send me an email.
Depending on the situation, you may need to contact the host management team.

Does my site need to be optimized for search engines (SEO)?

Well, having a website that no one sees is not a good marketing strategy.

What is SEO?

Search engine optimization is the process of increasing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing the visibility of a website or a web page to users of a web search engine. SEO refers to the improvement of unpaid results, and excludes direct traffic/visitors and the purchase of paid placement.

SEO Advantages:

a) Organic search is often the primary source of site traffic

Google owns a big share of the search market (75%) so is advisable to follow their guidelines.

b) SEO builds trust and credibility

SEO plays a key role in recognizing a brand. A search engine optimized website has the ability to attract more users than a non-optimized website.

c) Competitors are using SEO to grow

Please pay attention. Your customers and clients start their internet journey with a search. Your competitors are using search to grow their business. If you are not using search to grow your business, you will not have a business!

d) SEO influences purchasing decisions

SEO significantly influences purchasing decisions. This stemps from of the developed trust and credibility mentioned in our prior points.
